Why aren't the catcams on 24 hours a day?
| QUESTION: Why aren't the catcams on 24 hours a day? |
ANSWER: I head out to work at 6:40AM most weekdays. I come home a little after 5:00PM. I'd really like to use my computer for other things, and the catcams tend to use up all the CPU and memory. Also, I'd prefer not having a camera pointed at me while I'm recording a podcast. I'm not a cat, you know. There's not much point to having the cameras on when the sun goes down, and we're not sleeping with the lights on. (Okay, so the IR camera could be on overnight streaming, but that'll take some programming) If a sponsor would pay for the electricity, bandwidth, and hardware I'm sure I'd consider having them on around the clock. |
